Solutions to Fit Your Lifestyle
Dr. Ang surgically attaches your dental implants to your jaw, so they’ll stay firmly in place. At Amherst Village Dental, we have an implant solution to restore any number of missing teeth.
From your original consultation with Dr. Ang to the placement of your porcelain crown, our team will be with you every step of the way. We hope you’ll continue to choose us for all your dental needs because we want you and your family to be patients for life at Amherst Village Dental.
Your Consultation With Dr. Ang
The dental implant process begins with your consultation with Dr. Ang. He’ll use an intraoral camera to take an accurate digital impression of your smile. This device looks like a pen, and it generates a clear view of your smile that’s instantly viewable on a computer screen.
Dr. Ang will ask you some questions about your smile goals so he can recommend the treatment that’s right for you. If you decide to restore your smile with dental implants, we can start planning your treatment calendar right way.
Your Customized Treatment Plan
The next step is placing your dental implants. Dr. Ang will use our state-of-the-art CBCT cone beam imaging from Carestream for advanced surgical planning. That way, he can determine the ideal location to place the implant fixture, which is the section of the implant that works like a natural tooth root to keep your prosthetic tooth firmly in place.
Through a process called osseointegration, the bones in your jaw will develop a firm hold with the implant fixture. This typically takes between three and five months.
As soon as you’re ready, you’ll return to our office so Dr. Ang can complete the process by attaching the middle section called the abutment as well as the attractive porcelain crown. We use a color guide, so your custom-made crown will blend in perfectly with your smile.
Your Beautiful New Smile
As soon as the implant process is complete, you’ll be ready to share your beautiful new smile with everybody you meet. And you won’t have to worry about any more restrictions when it comes to your diet.
If you’re interested in restoring a whole arch of teeth, we have a number of options to choose from, including mini dental implants and overdentures. These natural-looking restorations will dramatically improve the comfort and chewing power you experience with your prosthetic teeth.
